Debra Kay Nebelsick was born December 18, 1955, in Mitchell, to William G. and Bonna Mae (Schrank) Titze. She attended Baker # 10 country school and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1974. In 1977, she received her nursing degree from Sioux Valley School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Mitchell. On June 18, 1977, she married David Nebelsick at St. John Lutheran Church, Hillside. She was an active member of the Mitchell Wesleyan Church and Bible Study Group. She enjoyed assisting with school events and attending her children’s activities.
Deb’s relationship with Jesus Christ was first and foremost in her life. She devoted much time to the memorization of scripture and worked to instill God’s word in her children’s hearts every chance she had. She told her children in the hospital “I have scripture all the way to the bottom of my feet.” This love of Christ stayed with her until her very last breath. While on this earth she expressed her love to the people that she met and relationships that she formed with them.
Deb loved hosting dinners for special events, bible studies, club, and parties. She was gifted in decorating and expressed it by decorating her home for at least 9 different holidays and seasons each year. She also decorated for weddings that spanned from Wyoming to Minnesota and several stops along the way. Deb was an excellent cook and provided physical and spiritual nourishment to her family, friends, and even her kids’ teachers during school conferences. She will be missed by so many people that she has touched through her very blessed 57 years on this earth and is laughing and singing with our Lord and Savior now and forever more.
She is survived by her husband Dave; five children: Daniel Nebelsick and wife Elizabeth of Rock Rapids, IA, Amber Groendyke and husband Jason of Sheldon, IA, Joshua Nebelsick and wife Katie of Rapid City, SD, Benjamin Nebelsick and wife Maggie of LeMars, IA, Jonathan Nebelsick of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; her mother, Bonna Mae Titze of Mitchell; one sister, Barb Ahrar and husband, Hamid of Prescott, WI. She was preceded in death by her father, William Titze.
