Nebelsiek Family Crest

This is a copy of information received from the German Nebelsick, sieck, sick, sik, sic Association.

“for our families in the U.S.A. and other countries. All families are permitted to have a family coat of arms provided they are integrated into our line of descent specifically with a complete family table: statement of person with exact date of life (see archive sheet 98).

Very important: The namesake authorized to have a family coat of arms, which is protected by law, is not permitted to change it neither in its form nor in its colour.

In blue with golden flanks on both sides – therein four fanshaped blue acorns with superimposed silvery cups coming out of the center line – an upper half bearded hunter with arm stubs in silvery hunting dress with five tips and golden head-gear (hat and brush) and golden body belt, escorted b two silver stars. Upon the helmet with two blue-silvery covers a covered silver cip, on both sides escorted by golden oak leaves.

Interpretation:

The hunter and forest-ranger in his hunting dress with five tips, his hunting trophy at his head-gear indicates the old forester profession of the ancestors.

The six radiating stars on both sides above his head refer to two main lines of the old forester family.

The four escorting acorns on both sides are the first of four forester generations of two main lines always with oak leaves on the helmet.

The covered cup on the helmet is symbol for a good drink on companionable hunting meetings.

(In general the cup symbolizes in its solemnized significance the commitment of community.)
