Ruth Elaine Nebelsick  was born December 8, 1950 at Canova, SD to Otto and Esther (Tillotson) Strong.  She grew up and attended schools in Pierre, Gann Valley and Spencer, graduating from Spencer High School in 1969.  In 1973 she graduated from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK.  On August 18, 1979 she married Richard Nebelsick and they made their home on a farm outside of Alexandria.  Ruth was employed as a package car driver for UPS for 33 years.  She was an avid horseback rider and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially playing the piano and singing with her siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, one daughter, Kristen Nebelsick of Huron, one son, Kyle (Jessica) Nebelsick of Alexandria, three grandchildren: Ava, Alexander and Henry, four brothers: Vernon Strong of Newark, IL, Clayton (Barbara) Strong of Mitchell, Richard Strong of Atlanta, GA, Warren Strong of Mitchell, one sister, Miriam Strong of Clarkesville, GA, a special cousin, Peggy Birney of Mitchell, a special friend, Scott Gove of Atlanta, GA, mother-in-law, Marjorie Nebelsick, Richard’s siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Duane Nebelsick,  and a sisters-in-law, Dorothy Strong and Debra Nebelsick.
