Dale L. Rotschafer, 65 of Lincoln passed away on May 5, 2016 at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln. He was born on December 13, 1950 in Fort Bragg, NC. Dale was a 1970 graduate from Northeast High School in Lincoln. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war.
Dale married Jane Schweppe on July 24, 1988 at St. Paul’s UCC (Osage) in Cook, NE. He worked as a restaurant manager for many years. He especially loved cooking Italian food. Dale was an avid fundraiser for both the Cornhusker Kiwanis and Clinic with the Heart.
On September 26, 2005 Dale received a small bowel transplant at UNMC and lived many more years than was expected, despite the odds of the procedure.
Dale is survived by his wife Jane Schweppe of Lincoln; son: Nathan Rotschafer of Omaha; mother: Mary Rotschafer of Lincoln; brothers: John (Tori) of Texas, Roger (Linda) of Friend; sisters: LaVonne (Jim) Brainard of Lincoln, Deb (Charlie) Swanson of Raymond; also many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. And his beloved companion dog Maggie. Dale was also like an uncle to his friends’ children.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Rotschafer, grandparents, and beloved dog Saddie.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Southpointe Christian Church located at 7010 Helen Witt Dr. Lincoln, NE. Inurnment will Lincoln Memorial cemetery in Lincoln.
